Kezad Communities and Abu Dhabi Energy Services sign deal to enhance energy efficiency projects in Abu Dhabi.

Kezad Communities and Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES) have signed an agreement in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group.

Kezad Communities and Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES) have signed an agreement in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group. The deal, signed by Abdulaziz A. Bawazeer, CEO of KEZAD Communities, and Khalid Mohammed Al Qubaisi, CEO of ADES, aims to accelerate energy efficiency projects in Abu Dhabi. The partnership will support Abu Dhabi’s Demand Side Management and Energy Rationalization Strategy 2030, targeting a 22% reduction in power consumption and a 32% reduction in water consumption. It also aligns with the UAE Circular Economy Policy 2021-2023, promoting sustainable consumption patterns.

Under the agreement, ADES will act as the project developer, identifying opportunities to improve water and electricity consumption efficiency in KEZAD Communities’ facilities. ADES will conduct an assessment of existing consumption patterns and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency, resulting in tangible savings for KEZAD Communities. This collaboration will contribute to the growth of the local energy services market and help organizations achieve economic and environmental sustainability goals. It reaffirms the commitment of both parties to support the UAE’s National Net Zero by 2050 objectives.

Abdulaziz A. Bawazeer, CEO of KEZAD Communities, emphasized their focus on sustainability and the importance of efficient resource utilization within their 40 staff accommodations. The partnership with ADES will ensure a clear plan for sustainable and efficient use of resources while maintaining an environmentally friendly approach.

Khalid Al Qubaisi, CEO of ADES, expressed excitement about joining forces with KEZAD Communities in the Year of Sustainability. The agreement will enable the adoption of energy efficiency measures to reduce energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions.

The agreement outlines various areas of cooperation, including building retrofit operations to optimize water and electricity efficiency, energy sustainability programs, and behavioral awareness campaigns to promote energy-saving habits. Both parties will collaborate to implement programs that achieve energy efficiency targets and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

This agreement follows ADES’s collaborative projects with several Abu Dhabi government entities, reflecting their commitment to sustainability and the expansion of the local energy services market. By establishing strategic alliances, ADES plays a crucial role in driving Abu Dhabi towards a greener and more energy-efficient future.

Through these initiatives, KEZAD Communities and ADES seek to optimize water and electricity consumption, minimizing waste and maximizing resource utilization.

KEZAD Communities, a subsidiary of KEZAD Group under the AD Ports Group’s Economic Cities & Free Zones, manages over 40 staff accommodations in Abu Dhabi with more than 450,000 beds. The recent merger with Eskan Al Jamaee positions KEZAD Communities as one of the largest businesses in the UAE, with an equity value of approximately AED 7 billion.
