The Sharjah Government underscores avenues for Indian companies to broaden their global business presence via the UAE.

In a bid to facilitate Indian companies in expanding their global presence, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), the apex industry body, arranged One-to-One Meetings on February 5th and 6th in Kochi. These sessions brought together delegates from Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, Government of Sharjah, UAE, and ASSOCHAM Members, supported by BNI Cochin, Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kerala Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).

Themed around ‘Expanding Business Globally through UAE’, the meetings aimed to educate participants on the advantages of the India-UAE CEPA and how Indian companies can broaden their reach into global markets by establishing branches and subsidiaries and leveraging the UAE as a gateway to enter and export to other Gulf countries, Africa, Europe, and beyond. Over 70 companies participated in these sessions.

Mr. Ali Al Mutawa, Deputy Director – Sales, SAIF Zone, Government of Sharjah, UAE, emphasized the significant demand for Indian products in the UAE and other GCC markets, urging Indian exporters to seize this opportunity. He highlighted the potential for the UAE to emerge as a major re-export center post-CEPA and underscored the promising opportunities and incentives available in SAIF Zone for Indian companies.

Mr. Raja Sethunath, Chairman of ASSOCHAM Kerala State Development Council, highlighted the potential of Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF) as a strategic platform for Indian businesses eyeing markets in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia. He emphasized the synergies between industries in Kochi and the UAE, emphasizing the importance of increasing awareness among industrialists and providing support to establish global business ventures.
