UAE Pro League Honors Fans’ Contribution with ‘Fans’ League’ Awards

The UAE Pro League recently announced the winners of the ‘Fans’ League’ awards, recognizing the contribution and support of fans towards the success of the league. The initiative was launched in February 2022, with fans casting their votes for the best players, coaches, and referees in the league.

The ‘Fans’ League’ awards were divided into four categories: Best Player, Best Coach, Best Referee, and Best Club. Fans voted for their favorite players, coaches, and referees, based on their performances throughout the season. The awards also recognized the best club in terms of fan engagement, social media presence, and community involvement.

The winner of the Best Player award went to Ali Mabkhout, who scored 24 goals for his club, Al Jazira, during the season. The UAE international striker also set a new record for the most goals scored in a single season, breaking the previous record of 23 goals set by his compatriot Asamoah Gyan in the 2014/15 season.

The Best Coach award was won by Marcel Keizer, who led Al Jazira to the league title, their first since the 2016/17 season. Keizer, who joined the club in 2021, guided his team to 18 wins, 5 draws, and only 3 losses, finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Al Ain.

The Best Referee award was given to Ahmed Al Ali, who officiated in 17 matches during the season, maintaining a high level of consistency and professionalism throughout. Al Ali is regarded as one of the top referees in the UAE Pro League, and his performances have earned him widespread praise from players, coaches, and fans.

The Best Club award was won by Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, who were recognized for their outstanding fan engagement, social media presence, and community involvement. The club has a strong presence on social media, with over 1 million followers on Instagram, and has been actively involved in various community initiatives, including charitable events and youth development programs.

In conclusion, the ‘Fans’ League’ awards were a great way to recognize the contribution and support of fans towards the success of the UAE Pro League. The winners of the awards were all deserving, and their performances throughout the season were a testament to their hard work and dedication. The UAE Pro League is now looking forward to the next season, and hopes that the ‘Fans’ League’ initiative will continue to engage and involve fans in the league’s activities
