The United Arab Emirates (UAE) President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received the Iraqi Prime Minister, Dr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, on Monday, February 7th, 2023. The meeting was held in Abu Dhabi and aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to enhance the economic, trade, and investment relations between their countries. The Prime Minister of Iraq expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s support for Iraq and its efforts to maintain stability and security in the region.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the importance of supporting Iraq in its efforts to rebuild and develop its infrastructure, as well as to enhance its economic growth. The UAE President also emphasized the importance of working together to address the challenges facing the region, including the fight against terrorism, extremism, and piracy.

Al Sudani was accorded an official reception ceremony on his arrival at Qasr Al Watan where the national anthem of Iraq was played, followed by a 21-gun salute. The Iraqi premier arrived earlier in the day and was received by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Court, and other sheikhs and senior officials. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes a number of Iraqi ministers.

The two leaders also discussed the importance of fostering cooperation between the countries in various fields, including energy, tourism, and agriculture. The Iraqi Prime Minister stressed the need to increase investment in Iraq, as well as to support its efforts to diversify its economy and create new job opportunities for its people.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials from both countries, including ministers and other high-ranking government officials. The visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to the UAE reflects the strong relationship between the two countries and their shared desire to work together to achieve their common goals and interests.

The meeting between the UAE President and the Iraqi Prime Minister was a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The leaders’ discussions focused on ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment relations, and to address the challenges facing the region. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Court; Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi as Secretary-General of Supreme Council for National Security; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State along with a number of officials.
