Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the ghee and oil in a large pan or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown. Remove the onions with a slotted spoon and set them aside on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

  11. In a large baking dish or Dutch oven, layer the partially cooked rice, cooked mutton, fried onions, chopped coriander leaves, and chopped mint leaves. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used up.
