Sotheby’s Dubai is set to exhibit 80 works by Middle Eastern artists from a private Gulf collection before they go under the hammer at a London auction. The exhibition, which will take place at the Sotheby’s Dubai galleries, is a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts in the region to view a diverse collection of works by some of the most talented artists from the Middle East.

In recent years, Al-Zayani has also launched A2Z, a luxury advisory service for private clients in New York, London and the Gulf who want to expand their jewelry and collections.

The collection, which has been put together over several decades by a private collector, showcases a range of styles and techniques, from traditional calligraphy to modern abstract expressionism. The works on display include pieces by leading artists such as Abdul Qader Al Rais, Ibrahim El-Salahi, and Farid Belkahia, as well as up-and-coming talents such as Raja’a Khalid and Tarek Al-Ghoussein.

The exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East and provides a platform for artists from the region to showcase their work to a global audience. Many of the works on display are expected to generate strong interest from collectors and art lovers, both in the region and internationally.

The exhibition is a testament to the growing importance of the Middle Eastern art market, which has seen a significant rise in recent years. With the rise of new collectors and the increasing popularity of Middle Eastern art, the region has become an important hub for the global art world, and Sotheby’s Dubai is at the forefront of this development.

Said Al-Zayani in a statement, “As I open the doors to my collection, the overarching sense is that these pieces were acquired with love, and I am excited for them to go to new homes where they will be discovered and appreciated anew. As with all journeys, new pathways must be travelled, and so with this auction I am opening a new chapter of both my story and the story of these timeless artworks.”

Sotheby’s Dubai has a long history of working with Middle Eastern artists and collectors and has played a key role in promoting the region’s art and culture to a wider audience. The exhibition is a continuation of this tradition, and the gallery is confident that it will attract a large number of visitors and generate significant interest from the art world.

The exhibition will run from Feb. 28 to March 3 and is open to the public. This will be followed by an exhibition of the collection in its entirety in London from Apr. 21 to 25, ahead of the live auction on Apr. 25. Entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to attend to view this remarkable collection of works by some of the most talented artists from the Middle East.

Works by Abdel Hadi El-Gazzar, Hassan Hajjaj, Fahrelnissa Zeid, Hatem El-Mekki, Mahmoud Moussa, Mohammed Melehi, Fouad Kamel, Gazbia Sirry, Farid Belkahia, Behjat Sadr and Taner Ceylan will go on view to the public, alongside worldwide auction highlights including jewellery, watches and arts of the Islamic world and India.
