The Higher Committee of the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development was established in 2019 to enhance economic cooperation between the four countries and promote sustainable industrial development in the region. Since its inception, the committee has facilitated several initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties and improving the business environment.
The upcoming meeting is expected to focus on developing new projects and strengthening existing ones, with the aim of creating sustainable economic growth in the region. The committee will also provide a report and recommendations during the meeting to help guide future decisions and initiatives.
The joint industrial projects that will be announced during the meeting are expected to cover a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, technology, and energy. These projects are expected to create job opportunities and contribute to the economic growth of the participating countries.
Yousef Al Shamali, Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and Minister of Labour, will chair the meeting with the participation of Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Ahmed Samir Saleh, Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Trade; and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce.
Under the partnership, the member states will collaborate to grow their respective industrial sectors by integrating resources and industries and leveraging competitive advantages.
Besides, the meeting is also expected to highlight the importance of regional cooperation and collaboration in promoting economic development and stability. The partnership between the four countries aims to establish a framework for cooperation that promotes sustainable economic growth and benefits all participating countries.
Several agreements will be signed between industrial companies from the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain, followed by new projects with investments worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This investment will strengthen the partnership and empower member nations’ respective industrial sectors to grow their contribution to GDP, bolster supply chains, reduce costs, and create new job opportunities.
The partnership was launched in May 2022 between the UAE, Egypt, and Jordan, with Bahrain joining during the partnership’s second meeting in Cairo in July.
