Ramadan in Dubai: Get ready to be amazed as we show you how Al Seef is glowing for the holy month with light projections, fireworks, and lantern-adorned walkways
Looking for a way to enjoy the festive season outdoors this Ramadan? Look no further than Dubai’s Al Seef, where the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has introduced “Ramadan in Dubai – Reflections”. This stunning display of light projections and building mapping will run from March 23 until April 22, offering visitors beautiful lights, displays, entertainment, and more as part of the historic neighbourhood’s Ramadan celebrations.
With modern designs coupled with the area’s proud past, the walkways of Al Seef are illuminated with lights that reflect the festive theme, creating a warm, seasonal ambiance. The stunning projections on buildings bring them to life, adding to the picturesque Ramadan night.
Last Saturday, thousands of residents made their way to Al Seef to witness a series of lighting projections capturing the spirit of the holy month, followed by a spectacular five-minute fireworks show. The fireworks lit up the Dubai Creek waters, with two boats stationed there for the show. The event was a perfect backdrop for visitors to gather and watch the skies fill with the glow of lights and the sounds of celebrations.
Visitors can also enjoy the food stalls, offering a variety of options, from ice cream and roasted corn to Karak street food. The restaurants offer deals for diners, attracting visitors to the experience of Ramadan with the backdrop of ancient architecture. Deira Creek, Al Seef, has been a go-to evening destination for people living on the other side of Dubai.
The Ramadan celebrations bring people together in celebration and unity. “We stay across the Creek in Deira and hop on the ferry here to experience the Ramadan celebrations. But what I see is a crowd [that] is way more than the regular, and the reason may be the fireworks,” said Aziz Ahmed, a resident of Dubai Creek on Deira’s side. “Al Seef is visible from my balcony. Yesterday we noticed a massive crowd. I googled the events and found a fireworks display, so I got my kids to watch it.”
For those planning to visit Al Seef, follow the pathway of 1,001 glittering lanterns to experience the Ramadan in Dubai Reflections Show from 8 pm to 2 am at the Dhow Deck and Starbucks area. This festive season, make sure to check out the incredible entertainment and beautiful lights on display at Al Seef.
As part of the Ramadan in Dubai Reflections celebration, Al Seef and Al Habai Mosque have been transformed into immersive experiences with beautiful building projections and glittering lanterns lighting the way. These installations will be available until April 22 and April 10, respectively.
But the festivities don’t stop there! Dubai Frame and Ain Dubai have also joined in on the fun with their own special projections for the holy month. Visitors can also catch the IMAGINE Ramadan projection at Festival Bay in Dubai Festival City Mall, which will be showcased daily throughout the month.
If you’re looking for a grand spectacle, be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming fireworks displays on April 1 at The Beach, Bluewaters, and JBR; on April 8 at Al Seef; and on April 15 at Dubai Festival City Mall. These shows are bound to light up the skies with dazzling colors and stunning pyrotechnics.
Dubai is known for its grand celebrations and the city certainly doesn’t disappoint during Ramadan. With so much to see and do, it’s the perfect time to explore the city and take in the festive ambiance. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, the Ramadan in Dubai Reflections celebration is not to be missed.
