Presight Secures Contract from NCEMA to Develop AI-Powered Platform for UAE’s Emergency Services

October 2, 2023 3

Presight, a leading big data analytics company driven by generative AI, has been awarded a contract by The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) to develop an AI-driven platform to support humanitarian, medical, emergency, and crisis response efforts in the UAE.

This contract builds upon the collaboration initiated between the two organizations during the Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2023 in May. Their joint efforts aim to enhance the UAE’s ability to manage crises and emergencies through the utilization of big data analytics powered by AI.

The groundbreaking platform, the first of its kind globally, will leverage Presight’s expertise in smart cities and public services to provide authorities with a centralized command solution for intelligent incident management. Incorporating a comprehensive blend of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and geospatial tools, including digital twin technology, the platform will facilitate real-time information sharing during events such as fires and natural disasters. This real-time exchange will enhance coordination among various humanitarian, emergency, medical, and citizen services, ensuring swift responses to incidents and bolstering overall city resilience and recovery.

Equipped with computer vision capabilities and access to diverse city data sources, the platform will furnish emergency services with a wealth of real-time information. It will also offer collaboration and communication tools designed for use during emergencies.

Furthermore, the platform will be seamlessly integrated with digital health records, enhancing medical services’ readiness to assist individual patients and improve outcomes.

The platform’s far-reaching benefits extend beyond crisis situations, making it particularly valuable for regions prone to natural disasters. Its adaptable design allows for global deployment and replication, accommodating private companies and partners who can contribute to enriching the data, thus enhancing operational efficiencies.

Beyond crisis response, the platform will continue to operate in the background, predicting potential secondary incidents and monitoring overall response progress. After an incident is resolved, data mining techniques will be employed to assess the situation, analyze future risks, and generate comprehensive reports on incident-related metrics, guiding future incident responses.

During non-emergency periods, the platform will provide relevant entities with a comprehensive overview of risks and resources within urban areas. AI-driven analyses will assist in risk assessment for specific threats during routine operations and in training services through simulated scenarios.

For its initial deployment, Presight will integrate solutions tailored to the core emergency services in the UAE. Future plans include expanding the platform’s capabilities to encompass advanced incident monitoring and additional services.

Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity of the UAE Government, emphasized the transformative power of the AI-driven platform in equipping the country’s emergency services with intelligent analysis, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure UAE. He also highlighted the critical role of a robust data security infrastructure in ensuring data safety and authenticity.

Ali Rashid Al Neyadi, Director General of NCEMA, stressed the global significance of such a platform. Coordinating emergency services for incident response can be a formidable challenge, particularly when dealing with natural disasters, as witnessed in the region recently. The platform will enhance the effectiveness of first responders by creating a comprehensive, collaborative data platform that delivers the right information at the right time, leading to improved efficiencies.

The Presight-developed AI platform promises to revolutionize emergency response and crisis management in the UAE and set a precedent for advanced emergency services worldwide.
