Steve Phimister, the Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), has outlined the company’s strategic roadmap towards a sustainable future and carbon neutrality by 2050. In an exclusive statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during ADIPEC 2023, Phimister underscored PDO’s dedication to expanding its project portfolio and adopting modern technologies to mitigate carbon emissions and support sustainable energy initiatives.

“PDO is firmly committed to building a sustainable future and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050,” said Phimister. “Our plans are in sync with the vision and objectives of COP28, and we are actively seeking partnerships to advance our core businesses in oil and gas while contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.”

Phimister emphasized that PDO’s project portfolio currently comprises more than 150 initiatives aimed at reducing hydrogen emissions and enhancing production capabilities.
