Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently met with Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), during the pre-summit day of the World Government Summit in Dubai. The meeting focused on the role of the WEF in generating new ideas to address economic challenges facing the world.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed praised the WEF’s efforts to promote economic growth and sustainable development across the globe. He emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in tackling global challenges and expressed his appreciation for the WEF’s role in facilitating discussions and generating new ideas on these issues.

The World Government Summit, which is set to be held in Dubai from February 13-15 under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’, provides a platform for world leaders, policy makers, and experts to discuss key issues facing governments and societies. The event aims to promote innovation and collaboration in developing solutions to global challenges.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, also attended the meeting between Sheikh Mohammed and Professor Schwab. The Crown Prince highlighted the importance of international cooperation in promoting economic growth and sustainable development, and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to advancing these goals.

Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum indicated that cooperation between the “Davos” Forum and the “World Government Summit” contributes to the consolidation of global dialogue and the provision of visions to develop institutional work in a way that reflects positively on development plans and the growth of global economies, praising His Highness for the role he plays. Davos Forum in this context, through the long experience it has accumulated for more than half a century.

The meeting between Sheikh Mohammed and Professor Schwab highlights the importance of international cooperation in addressing economic challenges facing the world. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit Organisation; and Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Managing Director of the World Government Summit Organisation.
