Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) collaborated with prominent public and private sector companies to conduct a comprehensive pan-European engagement program aimed at showcasing Dubai’s value proposition in the global technology industry. Through a series of events held at leading technology industry shows in Europe, the focus was on highlighting the business and investment opportunities arising from the implementation of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum earlier this year.

The two-week engagement program witnessed the active participation of senior UAE technology and business leaders, including Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office. These leaders engaged with influential global business and technology figures who attended prominent events such as South Summit Madrid, London Tech Week, and VivaTech Paris.

Dubai aimed to convey the significant growth potential arising from its emergence as a global technology and innovation hub, attracting entrepreneurs, investors, and talent from around the world. Omar Sultan Al Olama emphasized the UAE’s accomplishments in developing advanced digital infrastructure and deploying artificial intelligence solutions to drive digital transformation across various sectors. He expressed Dubai’s and the UAE’s keenness to strengthen partnerships with leading global technology and digital industry players to support startups and foster the country’s digital economy.

The engagement events organized by DET were joined by key stakeholders in the technology industry, including representatives from leading free zones, venture capital firms, incubators, and tech startups and scale-ups based in Dubai. Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, highlighted the significance of Dubai’s presence at these international events in fostering cross-border business collaboration, accelerating the growth of the digital economy, and positioning Dubai as a global innovation leader.

The engagement program included participation in events such as the South Summit, London Tech Week, and VivaTech, which provided platforms for networking, showcasing Dubai’s tech ecosystem, and discussing growth opportunities. Dubai’s presence and engagement in these events reflected growing confidence in the city as a destination for global businesses seeking innovation and leveraging the digital economy. The response received at the events demonstrated the increasing interest in Dubai and its potential as a base for growth. Follow-up discussions and outreach efforts were planned to attract key industry stakeholders and talent to Dubai.

The South Summit attracted thousands of attendees, including startups, executives, and investors, providing an opportunity for industry stakeholders from Dubai to build connections and explore collaborations with representatives from the Spanish business sector. London Tech Week, attended by over 30,000 participants, facilitated discussions between Dubai representatives and industry leaders from the UK and global markets. During the event, DET signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lloyd’s, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a regional hub for innovation-driven insurance and reinsurance companies.
