Growing up in Jordan, surrounded by children of all ages, Dr. Dakkoury developed a kind and calm personality that resonates with her young patients. This empathetic approach allows her to build trust and create a comfortable environment, ensuring that children and individuals with special care needs receive the highest quality dental care.
Dr. Dakkoury’s journey in dentistry began when she obtained her dental degree from the University of Jordan in 2010. Inspired by the compassionate connection she formed with the children she encountered, she was determined to specialize in pediatric dentistry. This led her to move to London to pursue a Dental Doctorate (DDent) at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute – University College London (UCL). Her dedication and hard work paid off when she successfully completed her Dental Doctorate in 2015, specializing in pediatric dentistry.
Not content with just one specialization, Dr. Dakkoury continued her academic pursuits and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in special care dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute – UCL in 2016. She further expanded her expertise by obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in dental conscious sedation from Kings College London Dental Institute in 2017. These qualifications enhanced her ability to provide specialized care to patients with complex needs.
As a member and fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Dakkoury completed her final fellowship in pediatric dentistry (FFD) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2016. Her extensive training and credentials demonstrate her unwavering dedication to her profession.
Dr. Dakkoury’s dedication to expanding her knowledge and expertise extended beyond dental accomplishments. Her passion for understanding the needs of her patients led her to pursue additional diplomas in Child Psychology and Autism Awareness. Furthermore, she is currently completing a master’s in healthcare management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, aiming to gain new skills, knowledge, and experience to enhance her leadership abilities for the benefit of the healthcare system.
Dr. Dakkoury’s commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills didn’t stop at her academic achievements. She also completed a clinical fellowship in craniofacial and cleft lip/palate, working as a specialty doctor at the esteemed Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. This invaluable experience gave her a deep understanding of the multidisciplinary approach required to provide comprehensive care for such patients. With over a decade of experience in treating children and special care patients, Dr. Dakkoury has had the opportunity to work in various countries, including England, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Her main interest lies in dental management for both children and adults with special care needs and sedation.
Dr. Dakkoury’s passion for making a positive impact extends beyond her clinical practice. She is a co-founder of the Arabic Society of Disability and Oral Health, an organization focused on promoting oral health awareness among individuals with disabilities. She has also been invited to present talks on pediatric and special care dentistry at national and international conferences, sharing her expertise with colleagues worldwide. Furthermore, her research has been published in several prestigious international journals, contributing to the advancement of the field.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Dakkoury leads a fulfilling life. She is an avid reader and enjoys playing the piano and knitting in her spare time. In addition, her brother’s shoe brand, DACCORI, based in London, has inspired her interest in fashion and beauty. Her curiosity about different cultures has led her to travel extensively, broadening her horizons and enriching her understanding of diverse communities.
