Tragic news has hit the comedy world as beloved comedian Gareth Richards passed away following a car accident. Richards, who was known for his inventive and hilarious comedy, had been a staple on the UK comedy scene since 2004, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 10 times and appearing on various BBC TV and radio shows.

The 41-year-old was also a former co-host of the Frank Skinner Show on Absolute Radio, where he worked alongside Skinner and Emily Dean for two years. The news of Richards’ passing has left many in the comedy industry heartbroken, with fellow comedian Jason Manford paying tribute to his “kind and thoughtful” nature, while Rhys James described him as a “giant of joke writing”.
