Abu Dhabi to Open 10 New Nursery Schools in 2 Years

Abu Dhabi’s education authorities have unveiled an ambitious plan to bolster early education in the emirate by launching 10 new nursery schools within the next two years. As part of the Public Nurseries Project, this initiative aims to add 4,000 seats to the existing public nursery schools, catering to the growing demand for quality early education.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) announced the project, which is set to create opportunities for young Emirati students aged between three months and four years. The first batch of enrollees, totaling 2,000 students, will have their registration open in October 2023. Priority will be given to children from families benefiting from social support, ensuring that vulnerable segments of society have access to quality early childhood education.

Sara Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education, Chairman of the Federal Agency of Early Education, and Chairman of Adek, emphasized that establishing 4,000 nursery seats is more than just an educational initiative; it is a strategic investment that will have a positive impact on Emirati families and the workforce.

Early education plays a critical role in a child’s development, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and shaping their cognitive, social, and emotional skills. By investing in early education, Abu Dhabi aims to empower the next generation of Emirati citizens and prepare them for future challenges and opportunities.

The Public Nurseries Project aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of providing high-quality education and creating a knowledge-based society. As part of the country’s ambitious National Agenda, enhancing early education is a top priority to nurture a well-educated, innovative, and skilled workforce capable of driving economic growth and sustainable development.

The expansion of nursery school facilities is a response to the increasing demand for early education services in Abu Dhabi. With the population steadily growing, there is a rising need for accessible and comprehensive early education options that cater to the diverse needs of families.

The Public Nurseries Project will contribute to strengthening the UAE’s education system and ensuring that children receive the best possible start in their educational journey. Early education has been proven to have a profound impact on a child’s development, leading to better academic performance, improved socio-emotional skills, and enhanced creativity.

Through this initiative, the Abu Dhabi government aims to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters the holistic development of young learners. By providing them with a solid educational foundation, the project will support the UAE’s long-term vision of becoming a global center for knowledge and innovation.

Parents and families can look forward to the upcoming registration process, which will open doors for their children to experience high-quality early education in state-of-the-art facilities. The Public Nurseries Project is a testament to Abu Dhabi’s commitment to investing in its youth, ensuring that every child has access to a bright and promising future.
