The announcement was made during the ISO’s 45th general assembly meeting in Brisbane, Australia. Saudi Arabia’s tenure in this esteemed council is set to span a two-year period, commencing in 2024, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Representing the Kingdom at the recent ISO meetings was the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO). SASO’s primary commitment lies in the continuous improvement and revision of Saudi standards and technical regulations. Their tireless efforts are geared towards safeguarding the nation’s markets from counterfeit, substandard, and deceptive products, with the overarching goal of strengthening the national economy.
