Adipec Convenes Global Energy Leaders in Abu Dhabi for Historic Event
Adipec 2023, hosted by Adnoc and under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is set to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) from Monday to Thursday. The event is themed ‘Decarbonising. Faster. Together,’ and aims to unite the global energy industry in advancing the decarbonization of the current energy system while collaborating on the energy system of the future.
With a diverse exhibition program encompassing energy-related technology, innovation, collaboration, and digitalization, Adipec 2023 is poised to be the largest edition ever, anticipating the participation of more than 160,000 attendees from 164 countries. This significant event occurs just seven weeks before the UAE hosts COP28, providing a vital platform for energy and related industries to align on a lower-carbon, high-growth energy future.
Building upon its nearly 40-year legacy of innovation, Adipec 2023 will showcase cutting-edge technologies and systems crucial to achieving the global energy transition. Companies from across the energy spectrum will highlight innovations and technologies driving the industry’s journey towards Net Zero, including direct air capture (DAC), carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), green hydrogen electrolysers, power-to-x, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
The Adipec Exhibition will enable visitors to connect with over 2,200 global companies spanning 16 exhibition halls and 30 country pavilions, making it an ideal platform for fostering cross-sectoral networking, deal-making, and knowledge exchange. This year, Adipec introduces four specialized areas to facilitate cross-sector collaboration and transformative partnerships: the decarbonization accelerator, maritime and logistics zone, digitalization in energy zone, and the manufacturing and industrialization exhibition and conference.
The maritime and logistics zone is housed in the dedicated marina hall, featuring maritime and logistics technical and strategic conferences. Visitors can also participate in innovation sessions, where industry experts will share insights on innovative approaches to drive large-scale decarbonization. These sessions, organized into three dedicated tracks—decarbonization, maritime and logistics, and digitalization in energy—aim to facilitate solution-oriented discussions in a curated program format. They are complemented by the cross-sector co-lab program, allowing visitors to explore cross-industry partnerships accelerating the energy transition.
Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, organizers of Adipec 2023, expressed the event’s significance, stating, “Adipec 2023, with its ambitious conference agenda and extensive exhibition plan, offers unparalleled opportunities for collaboration, partnership, learning, and investment. Never before have we assembled such a diverse range of cutting-edge innovations, influential partnerships, visionary global leaders, disruptive innovators, and thought leaders in one place, all contributing to a decarbonized energy transition. Adipec 2023 caters to everyone in the energy industry, whether seeking insights into leveraging digital technologies for enhanced operational efficiency, understanding the policies impacting the energy transition, or exploring green finance and investment opportunities.”
Adipec 2023 boasts a remarkable lineup of more than 1,600 speakers, including over 40 ministers and 120 c-suite executives from regions spanning the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. They will address over 15,000 delegates across 350 Adipec conference sessions, sharing strategies and innovative ideas to expedite collective, responsible action for securing the energy future.
